Thermography (thermal imaging) is an advanced, non-invasive technology that allows inspectors to show homeowners things about their homes that can’t be revealed using conventional inspection methods. A popular misconception is that thermal imaging devices can see through walls. This is not true. A thermal imaging device can only see and measure temperature differences on surfaces. There needs to be a temperature differential in order for the thermal imager to detect thermal anomalies. An infrared inspection can identify and document missing, damaged, or inadequate insulation, building envelope air leaks, moisture intrusion, and substandard work. Thermal imaging can help you target the source of the problem so you can make informed decisions on repairs. AHI is a (CRT) Certified Residential Thermographer through Monroe Infrared Technology and Infrared Certified® through interNACHI.
