Video Sewer Scope Inspections
Video sewer scope inspections allow the main sewer line (also called the building sewer or sewer lateral) to be inspected using a specialized camera.
In most homes, the condition of the sewer line is unknown until a camera inspection is performed—or until a backup occurs. Sewer line repairs or replacements can be very expensive, which is why checking the line before purchasing a home can be extremely valuable.
During the inspection, the camera can reveal issues such as cracks, offsets, blockages, root intrusion, low spots (bellies), and improper materials.
The condition of the sewer line will be described in your inspection report, along with recommendations and a link to the video footage from the inspection.
Sewer scope inspections are available for an additional fee and are not included as part of a standard home inspection.
